Bob Iger (born Robert Alan “Bob” Iger in New York, New York on February 10, 1951) is an American businessman. Bob began his career with ABC in 1974. In 1989 he was named to lead ABC Entertainment and served as the President of the ABC Network Television group in 1993. Bob was then appointed as Capital Cities/ABC Senior Vice President in March 1993 and Executive Vice President in July 1993. In 1994, he was named President and COO of ABC’s corporate parent, Capital Cities. Following the Walt Disney Company purchase of Capital Cities/ABC, Bob was named Presidenet of Walt Disney International, where he oversaw Disney’s international operations. In 2000, Bob took on the role as President and COO of Disney. In 2005, he succeeded Michael Eisner as CEO. Bob will remain the CEO and Chairman of Disney until June 2018. He most recently traveled to China to help open the $5.5 billion Disney park.

Bob is especially philanthropic, known most recently for donating $1 million to victims of the Orlando shooting. In June 2012, Steven Spielberg presented Bob with the Ambassador for Humanity Award on behalf of the USC Shoah Foundation Institute for Visual History and Education, for his longtime philanthropy and leadership. Bob married Kathleen Iger and the couple had two daughter, Kathleen Iger and Amanda Iger, before their divorce. Bob remarried TV anchor Willow Bay in 1995. They have two children together: Robert Iger and William Iger. Bob practices Judaism.
